Solutions

Solution / so·lu·tion n. / a. The method or process of solving a problem. b. The answer to or disposition of a problem.

Every operation has issues or more commonly stated “Problems”. Often these issues are due to people and their Lack of Motivation in their job performance. Psychologist share that there is a solution to most performance problems and the answer is Motivation within a group or individual. If the person has the ability to perform the job correctly and is not doing so, the answer is a lack of Motivation. This formula as the “solution” to many a performance issue; Ability X Motivation = Productivity. Otherwise when a capable employee becomes motivated, the results will be increased productivity and increased performance. Reduced costs are a by product of this solution.
The answer, to your performance issues, lies in how you will choose to motivate and reward
your group to accomplish your goals.

Employee Recognition

When was the last time someone told you thank you for the great job you are doing? Most likely
you have not been told this at all. Our inner-spirit desires to be Recognized and acknowledged
for the things we do right. When we hear or are shown the “Thank You” we most deeply
desire, we become pleased that we were acknowledged for our efforts and accomplishments.
Employees who are Positively Reinforced are productive and assets to their employers.
Managers and owners need to learn how to get the most from their employees is as simple and
as effective manner as possible. Employee Recognition is a tool that mangers and owners need
to learn how to use.

Incentive Programs

Wise managers and leaders will implement Incentive Programs to Positively Change the
Attitudes and Performance of their workers. The incentive is something the person wants and
desires to have, the program is the way you allow your employee to achieve their desired
object. While they work to obtain this Trophy they want, at the same time they help you achieve
your goals of increased productivity, reduced costs and increased profitability.

Loyalty Programs

Historical data has shown that Loyal Customers will spend more of their shopping dollars at a
business that makes them feel appreciated and rewarded for the purchases made at a specific
establishment. Loyalty programs offer an award based upon a percent of the purchase dollar
spent in a store or establishment. Years ago ladies earned trading stamps for each dollar
spent in food stores, service stations, drug stores and other community businesses. These
shoppers became Loyal to the stores that rewarded them and even when the big new retailer
came to town, these folks seemed to return back to the rewards which helped them obtain end
tables, lamps, irons, curtains and more necessities free for their homes. Loyalty Programs often
generate higher net profit dollars for those who implement them.

Rewards Programs

One of the best ways to get someone’s attention is to offer an award for them doing a specific
task or deed. For example, “Precious” the neighbor’s poodle is lost and her owner puts up
a poster offering a $50 Reward for whom ever finds “Precious” and brings her home. The
neighborhood children become mobilized and not long afterwards little Bobby proudly comes up
the street with Precious in tow.
Many times wise managers will offer rewards for those who will get up and become motivated to
help solve a problem or make something good happen.

Sales Incentives

Many organizations promote their products to their customers or to those people who sell the
products or services. We live in a what’s In It for Me? World. What is in it for the salesperson
to sell your product ahead of other brands on the shelves? What’s in it for the contractor to
buy all of their supplies from your warehouse instead of the other place up the block? Sales
Incentives have been used to motivate and reward people to buy, to sell, to be faithful, to be
a full time shopper and to help build sales volume and increased profits. What is the sales
incentive, a Reward, a Prize, a Gift, a trophy that comes because of loyalty and positive
actions?

Award Gift Card

American is love with Gift cards, however the cards most people are exposed to are the cards
which are the rewarding the card issuer more that the card recipient. 30% of most gift cards are
not redeemed due to lost or forgotten cards which people have received. You pay for the card
up front, your give the card to the employee and you really do not know what ever happened
after that moment. The most effective and smart gift card is one which allows you to present the
gift card to your special person and then bills you when that person redeems their card for the
merchandise gift.

card recipient redeems for name brand merchandise and the award is shipped. Lost cards no
problem we can cancel the lost card and issue another. Ask the other guys to replace a lost
card…it will not happen.

Years of Service Awards

The IRS states that there are 2 types of incentive awards which are not taxable as income to
an employee. One of them is for Years of Service Awards. The Tax code (section 274, j) clearly
says the Years of Service gifts must be tangible merchandise, awarded upon the person’s
5th anniversary and following 5 year increments. The award must be “qualified” meaning it is
done annually. There is also a limit of a $400 average per participant annually with a maximum
of $1,600 to anyone individual. The code mentions a “Meaningful Presentation” and many
organizations use an attractive presentation package to present to the honoree. Our Years

of Service Awards program takes every one of these features into account, plus a wonderful
selection of current name bran merchandise awards at there for everyone to choose the item
they want as their award.
